Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

Many have asked for weekly prayers to be shared with the community. This is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayer Thoughts From Pastor Devon
“On Monday in Lectio Divina, we shared our prayers with one another. One prayer was to be as loving to others as our heavenly parent is to us. Another was for us to remember that this type of love, unconditional love, is within us already. Another prayer was for us to bear fruit and be generous with one another. To remember to always respond in love even when it is hard…prayers for control on how we respond. And finally, for the amplification of love in the world and God’s loving presence to be lived out by people of faith.  I have held these prayers with me all week and has really caused me to wonder how we are doing at loving people.

Loving People:
Last week (8/8) Devon explained that fresh expressions of being the church involves: listening, loving people, building community, exploring discipleship, church taking shape, and doing it again.

8/14 was all about listening. Deep listen. Listening to God and to our community. We were asked,  “where God is moving in the community?”

This week (8/21) Pastor Devon encouraged us to love wholeheartedly. – to step out and be the church in new and unexpected ways! She also gave us all the homework assignment of trying something new that would lead to us meeting new people and making new friends.  So let us all pray for each other as we seek new friends as we move forward, toward new expressions of our faith.
