Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,
As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.
Blessings,
Pastor Devon
Prayers of Joy
- We all celebrated having Joy with us in worship on Sunday! And were impressed she was using a walker instead of a wheelchair! Praise God!
- It was also wonderful to have Weldon back with us after his eye surgery!
- We give praise also that Wendy’s cousin, Norm, had a successful surgery last week.
- Kymmie expressed joy for a spectacular pantry day last Thursday.
- Joy also for Jeff’s birthday. We all celebrate another spin around the globe for him.
- Kymmie’s Grandpa is turning 101, which is amazing!
- Kymmie also is joyful for our Thanksgiving with 1st Presbyterian Church. [Which was a great success!]
Concerns
- Barbara’s PT is reportedly going well, but we ask for continued healing prayers for her hip.
- We also ask for continued prayer for Cecilia and her knee.
- Please also pray for Colleen’s recovery from surgery.
- Prayers for Annie who has shingles.
- Wendy asked for prayers for her friend, Maureen, who is recovering from her third knee surgery, and preparing for a fourth knee surgery (all the same knee).
- Kymmie asked for prayers for John R., Betsy and Betty.
- Pray also for Wendy’s upcoming move, which happens this week!
- John reminded us that Tuesday is our Homeless Coalition meal, and so please pray for that meal, those who serve and prepare it, and also for those that will be there to receive it.
- Cheryl also asked for prayers for her upcoming vacation.
- Cheryl asked that we pray for Kymmie, who will have a hectic Monday and Tuesday due to the shortened pantry holiday schedule.
- Pray also that all those that do not have a place to go for Thanksgiving. Pray that they find a place to feel welcome and filled.
- Emma asked for prayer for retail workers during the upcoming holiday season.
- Continued prayers for Cheryl’s brother and sister.
- Please pray for foodbanks all over as giving is not keeping pace with need, including here at our food pantry.
- Pray also that our food pantry clients have a safe and happy thanksgiving.
- Pray for those struggling with their mental and physical health.
- For the persecuted around the globe.
- For those facing war and violence, especially Israel, Palestine, Russian and Ukraine.
- For peace in our own lives and for our world.
Traveling Mercies
- Prayers for Larry and Janet as they travel for their nephew’s wedding.
- For all those traveling, especially those traveling during the holidays. That their travel is safe and full of joy.
