Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • Alison is celebrating a new job at Goodwill and that she will soon be moving into Jacaranda Place!
  • It was great to see both Janet and Joyce in church and feeling better! A definite praise!
  • Kymmie is grateful for the reminder to keep swimming.

  • Pray for Darla who is currently on medication with an undiagnosed upper respiratory problem.
  • Pray for Pam’s 1.5 year old nephew, Leo. He needs surgery. Pray that it successful and he thrives.
  • Annie is having surgery, so pray for that to go well.
  • Pray for Sharon’s son, Adam, and his girlfriend. Her grandmother has been moved to hospice.
  • Prayers for Johnny’s family. His mother Betty passed from cancer this week.
  • John’s friend has advanced prostrate cancer. Please pray for him and his family.
  • Wendy’s friend Maureen is getting close to her 11th leg surgery. (Assuming the infection has finally cleared.) She’s asked we pray it has cleared, that the surgery goes forward, that it goes well, and that it’s the last one on that leg.

  • Pray for Alan’s mom’s wellbeing and health.
  • Pray for Brice and AJ’s recovery.

  • For Barbara and Fred and Fred’s healing.
  • For Cecilia’s healing.
  • For Michael. He had a stroke and a motorcycle accident.
  • Cheryl also is asking for prayer for improved transportation options.
  • Nichole, a visitor, asked for prayers for her sister and mother as they seek safe, affordable housing.
  • Prayers for Jacaranda Place: residents, caseworkers, and peer advisors.
  • Pray for those facing difficult conversations or difficult decisions – that they not be avoided, but faced with thoughtfulness and love.
  • Pray for those in negative and angry spaces to find peace to stop tearing others down.
  • Pray for peace in our hearts.
  • Pray for more food for the food pantry. Numbers are up but not food donations.
  • Also for our food pantry clients and volunteers.
  • For those struggling with financial issues.
  • Continue to pray for Cheryl’s brother and sister.
  • For all those struggling: the homeless, hungry and hurting; those fighting addiction and for their mental health; for our veterans; for those impacted by hate and exclusion; and for those serving and working for reconciliation for any of these.
  • For those persecuted for their beliefs;
  • For all the war and violence – for peace around the world!
  • For peace in our own lives and for our world.
