Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers for a Bigger Table

During our Lenten journey, we explored what a bigger table would look like and we were all asked to write our hopes for a bigger table and to put them in a cup at the alter. Below are those that were shared.

“My hope for a bigger table is…

  • opportunities for learning and growing.
  • honoring God by treating ALL with dignity and respect
  • new friends
  • the opportunity to better love whomever God puts in our path
  • living out, “God bless all, with all meaning all”
  • hope
  • a great from of evangelism
  • inviting more and “different” people into our lives. No “buts” or exclusions
  • hope for one family!
  • having more people to love!
(That last one is from Maya, who repeatedly teaches us to love better.)

Maybe we all pray these into our future together.

Prayers of Joy

  • Alison is grateful for a list of things this week:
    • to be moving into her apartment on April 16th!
    • to be a great aunt for the 5th time!
    • for the beautiful weather,
    • and to whomever brought the chocolate chip cookies, she says “God bless you!”
  • For a bigger table where all feel welcomed, included, and loved.

Concerns

  • Pray for Jeanne’s catherization this week.
  • Josie asked for prayers for Thom and their neighbor as both are recovering from a stomach virus.
  • Josie also asked we pray for Jeff who is having a difficult time with loss of his wife.
  • Prayers for helpful test results.
  • Continue to also pray for Bud and Donna.
  • For Barbara and Fred and Fred’s healing.
  • For Kymmie’s mom’s health.
  • Pray also that we all remember, “there but for the grace of God go I.”
  • For all those struggling: the homeless, hungry and hurting; those fighting addiction and for their mental health; for our veterans; for those impacted by hate and exclusion; and for those serving and working for reconciliation for any of these.
  • For all the war and violence – for peace around the world!
  • For peace in our own lives and for our world.

Traveling Mercies

  • For Diane & Mike
  • For Peggy and Pam.
  • Pray for safe travels for all for 2024!
