Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community, Many have asked for weekly prayers to be shared with the community. This is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy:

God asks us to call out to Him. And so we do so here, Lord. For your peace, your love, your grace to flow in and through us.

Prayers of thanksgiving for Cheryl. It is her 2 year anniversary at Wintergarden. We are all grateful for her everyday and can’t imagine our church without her!
We were asked to pray for Kymmie’s keys to find their way back home. And they did, so that’s an answer to prayer!
Also Devon’s expressed joy for her mom and niece Scarlet – for their birthdays.

Prayers of Concern:
May we pray for understanding comfort, joy and understanding; for health, healing, and wellness.
Please prayers for Klayton. He is 3 years old and on Sunday, July 31 he went under the water for an extended time. He was Bay Flighted out to All Children’s Hospital in Saint Pete. Thankfully, he’s now off life support! And, he is responding incredibly well! But it will still be a long journey back. May we all continue to pray for this sweet little boy. Also for his mom’s Jessi and Amber, and dear friends Ray, Raymond, and Gavin, as well as for Jessi and Amber’s other kids.
For Heather’s sister, Juanita, as she battles lymphocytic leukemia.
For Sharon’s faither-in-law’s. He’s 97 and there is COVID in his wing of the nursing home. So prayers for his health and for his spirits – that he’s not overly lonely.
Pray for Kymmie’s migraines to stop.
For Jeanne who is having a difficult week.
For Drew starting back to school after a long absence.
Kymmie also asked for prayer for her nephew, Logan and for a dear friend who needs peace.
Please continue to pray for healing also for John, a pantry client who remains in the hospital with complications from Covid and other infections.
Cheryl lifted up prayers for her family and their salvation, co-workers, housing, finances, her brother in Georgia, for Gale, for Connie & Jim, and for those traveling.
We pray for the hungry and those that serve the hungry.
Barbara’s friend Jennifer asked for prayers for her mom and sister to feel comfortable going back to church.
Sharon’s new and final school year
For joy to return.
We pray for those battling mental health and for those in situations they never thought they’d be in.

Additional prayer topics from Devon’s sermon:
“Every person we meet is on a different journey. And we never know how we will impact them on their journey or how they will impact us. We also never fully know what is happening in someone else’s life that causes reactions to things and how our conversations or interactions that day or that moment might impact someone in that day or in the weeks to come.”
~ Pastor Devon

What does it truly mean to become the people of God?
What journey God is calling all of us to individually, as a family, as a faith community?
Are we really doing a good job of listening to one and other, to God and to the hopes of the community?
Have we been loving people the way God calls us to love one another?
Have we been building a community that shares God’s love authentically?
Are we open to alternative ways of being the church in our community and to see how God will lead us on this journey?
And are we willing to do those things over and over and over again?
What if we are meant to look at new ways for fresh expression of becoming church for the welfare of our city? What does it mean for us to promote the welfare of the city?

On the website for the church, there is a way to submit your prayer requests. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please do so. The prayer requests are emailed to Pastor Devon once they are submitted.
