Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • Chris reports his dad is doing better! He is hearing better and trying new things like exercise! And in an extra special blessing, he was able to hear his wife say, “I love you” for the first time in a long time!
  • Maralee was blessed with a good trip north and with some resolution to estate related issues.
  • Wendy is grateful to be home! And is also excited to have brought home her dad’s clock. A family heirloom from his time at GM. It’s been in storage in AK and it’s chime reminds her of her dad.
  • Wendy is also grateful to have Tommy’s address. (He’s at Navy basic training in IL.)
  • Kymmie is grateful for a wonderful recital experience for her family last week.
  • Cheryl’s excited to go on vacation.

Concerns

  • Prayers for Jackie who had surgery on Friday and is having a difficult recovery.
  • Continued prayers for April, the pantry volunteer that was hit by a car and is still in pain. Pray also for the family that hit April.
  • Jeannie’s niece, Denise passed. Prayers for the entire family.
  • Barbara’s friend, Jennifer, is losing her father. So prayers for Jennifer and her family.
  • Prayer for Lamont who is ill today.
  • Wendy has foot surgery on Friday and appreciates prayers for a fast recovery.
  • Please pray for Emma and Tommy. Each are at basic training (Amy and Navy.) Emma has probable Covid, so prayers for her healing as well.
  • Prayers for Barbara M who is recovering from back surgery. Also for Wendy’s “bestie,” Ariam, from Costa Rica. Ariam is in Miami caring for Barbara through her recovery.
  • Annie hurt her back again, so prayers for healing.
  • Pray also for Heather’s sister.
  • Please pray for Colleen’s friend, Leslie, who has pancreatic cancer.
  • Continue to pray for Chery’s friend, Sandy, and also for Chery’s family.
  • Continue to pray for Barbara for the loss of her beloved husband, Fred.
  • Continue to also pray for Bud and Donna.
  • Continue to pray for Joy and Bob’s loved ones as they continue to grieve.
  • For those at Jacaranda Place.
  • For all those struggling: the homeless, hungry and hurting; those fighting addiction and for their mental health; for our veterans; for those impacted by hate and exclusion; and for those serving and working for reconciliation for any of these. Pray also that we all remember, “there but for the grace of God go I.”
  • For all the war and violence – for peace around the world! For peace in our own lives and for our world.

Traveling Mercies

  • For Cheryl’s travels.
  • Pray for safe travels for all for 2024!
